Use of demo video
Is our submission video used for public presentation at RootsTech, or is it just for use by the judges? For example, will the winner's video be shown on the big screen in front of thousands?

Great question. The answer is up to you.
If you put a link in the Video URL field in the submission form, it will show up on this website for anyone to view, most importantly judges.
If you do not want your video to display on the site here, but ONLY judges to see it, put the link and comments about that in the Testing Instructions box.
What shows up at RootsTech is a completely different matter. If the same video you submit here is awesome and works for BOTH the judges AND a consumer audience, then yes, it can be used to show at RootsTech with your permission. To be clear though, you don't have to polish a consumer-ready video to post a submission to judges here. A video to use during your presentation at RootsTech is not required, but a bonus, and is up to you and the quality of that video.

What is the deadline for delivering an updated public-facing video for use at RootsTech? Can we give it to you the day before it would be used?

We need your final public facing video by Feb 11, at which point it will be in our discretion as to whether it is approved for broadcasting to the live audience. If you can give us a draft or earlier cut sooner, we would be able to raise any concerns earlier and hopefully give you time to tweak before Feb 11.
